A full weekend in a working smithy in Weißensee for complete beginners. On Saturday you learn to light and manage a coal forge, hold the hammer properly and draw out, taper and flatten steel — first on practice bars, then on your own blade of 1.2842 tool steel. Sunday is about turning a forged blank into a real knife: normalising, hardening in oil, tempering in the oven, grinding the bevel and fitting a handle of oak or walnut. Tobias works with a maximum of four people, so everyone has their own anvil and forge space. All tools, steel, handle wood, safety gear and lunch on both days are included; wear cotton clothes and sturdy leather shoes (no synthetics near the fire).
